Sorry for the long paused. Life happens and sometimes it's difficult to get back on track.
Sky Creation will be switching to custom order only. This decision does not come lightly,
I have always pushed my physical capabilities to the max. Although you may not think of a seamstress as heavy physical labour, over the years as I have gotten older things; such a carrying bolts of fabric, cutting and sewing; have gotten difficult on my physical health. Signs of arthritis were already there. Each year I would feel more drained and a longer recovery period.
For most of the year I would work 16 hours a day, 6 days a week. The hours would go up to 20+ hours a day, 7 days a week, during the two months leading to the Halloween. There would be a slow down period after Halloween, where for 2 months I can get away with working 8 hours a day, 6 days a week. I would mostly spend that time mentally preparing myself to go back to working 16 hours.
This was my life for 7 years. Not very fun...
These were the main reason for relocating to Vietnam. I needed to find help because I could not continue at this pace. The slow down during the pandemic was what I needed to set the wheels in motion.
Sky Creation will continue to bring you custom clothing made by small business, professional tailors.
I will also be branching out to other endeavours. As life is short, there's still many crazy ideas on my mind and I would like to spend some time with my kids...finally.
I would like to take this time to say a HUGE "Thank you" for all your support through the years. It is thanks to you that a mom with a sewing machine was able to raise 2 kids, become a home owner and be independent. It is because you took a chance on me, this is the essence of a small business, don't underestimate the power of buying from small businesses.
I will be sure to update my non-cosplay adventures.
